Uscan, our flagship product for advanced ultrasound in bladder care, was approved in Japan on August 1, 2016. We have been busy introducing this innovative device to the Japanese market, and I am pleased to announce that we received our first purchase from a practitioner clinic. On October 31, 2016, Ito Clinic located in Tosu (Saga Prefecture, Japan) received its Uscan unit. Ito Clinic specializes in urology, sexually transmitted diseases and dermatology, as well as provides treatment to patients with frequent urination and urinary incontinence. Ito Clinic’s decision to purchase Uscan was driven by the fact that its tablet design and general operation is easy for nurses to use, particularly when measuring residual urine. Furthermore, Ito Clinic liked how Uscan has abdominal ultrasound capabilities. Dr. Hiroki Ito, hospital director, said that he hopes this purchase will allow the hospital to begin house calls.
We are encouraged by the positive reception of Uscan in Japan and will share other updates in the months ahead.

There have been so many great things taking place this year for us here at Signostics, including the positive feedback we’re receiving from everyone who experiences Uscan, our advanced ultrasound for bladder care. As the end of 2016 nears, we’re looking forward to an even better 2017. One thing in particular that I am especially excited about is our new headquarters building that is currently under construction in Washington state. With the space minutes from downtown Redmond, we will be located near the headquarters of other local and innovative companies, such as Microsoft, Nintendo, AT&T and Big Fin. When deciding where we wanted to locate our new home, Redmond was a standout option.
The new office in Redmond offers us the opportunity to truly customize and design our space to meet our needs. The first floor will be home to production operations and a café/kitchen that will eventually provide catered meals for our employees. The second floor will have fifty private offices, shared work stations, three conference rooms and a multi-purpose room where trainings will be conducted. Once completed, our new space will be a total of 31,000 sq ft. I’m positive this will give us enough room to continue the rapid growth we’ve seen this year.
Similar to the setup we are creating in Redmond, we have an office in Adelaide, Australia, the birthplace of Signostics. Our Adelaide office has two floors with production on the first floor and office space on the second. Combining the two floors, we occupy 7,500 sq ft. The office location is especially unique because it’s located in the Tonsley Innovation District. Tonsley is Australia’s first innovation district with a mission to create an operating environment that assists South Australian businesses in their move into global markets. Other Tonsley tenants include Siemens, Flinders University and Zen Energy. Business IT magazine has suggested that Tonsley could become Australia’s own Silicon Valley. We take pride in being a part of this amazing community.
Our company is focused on building technology that enhances medical care and our new building in Redmond will accelerate our ability to deliver innovation for healthcare providers and patients. We look forward to sharing our progress on this new adventure in the coming months!
